Terence Seikel – Chairman of the Board
Terry Seikel is President and CEO of Defiance Partners, LLC, a private investment firm which he founded in 2005. Mr. Seikel has a number of portfolio companies including major stakes in The Applied Group, Inc., a supplier of engineering services to the transportation industry and structural components to the solar energy industry and Accubuilt, Inc., the leading supplier of funeral vehicles and VIP limos in North America.
Mr. Seikel serves as a director of The Applied Group, Accubuilt, Inc., Creative Foam (a supplier of foam products to the automotive, medical and wind industries), and NitroFill, LLC (a supplier of patented nitrogen inflation generators and customer retention programs sold to automotive service providers). From 2005-2015, Mr. Seikel was President, CEO and a director of A.R.E Accessories, LLC, a leading supplier of fiberglass caps and tonneau covers for pickup trucks and other custom fiberglass components. Mr. Seikel was President and CEO (1999-2005) and CFO (1996-1999) of Advanced Accessory Systems and a member of its Board of Managers. Advanced Accessory Systems was a global leader in the supply of roof rack systems, towing systems, and related accessories to the Automotive OEM market and aftermarket. The company had 2,400 employees in 24 facilities in 15 countries and had annual sales revenue in excess of $400 million. Mr. Seikel holds a BS degree in accounting and finance from Defiance College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Craig Winn – President
As President, Craig Winn is responsible for aligning AET’s operations with its vision to lead the solar industry in engineering, manufacturing and installation (EMI) solutions. With 29 years of experience in the solar and automotive industry, Mr. Winn has held several senior management positions, including President of North American Engineering and Assembly operations for Magna Steyr, a subsidiary of Canadian automotive supplier Magna International, from 1999-2002. He spent 26 years in automotive OEM product development before joining Magna. His most recent OEM position was with DaimlerChrysler Corporation as vice president of Jeep® platform engineering. In this position, he was responsible for engineering and program management for the full line of Jeep® vehicles. His team included 1,200 engineering personnel and his annual budget was over $300 million. Mr. Winn began his career as a chassis product development engineer with Ford Motor Company. He has held a variety of engineering and management positions with Ford, American Motors Corporation and Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Winn holds a mechanical engineering degree of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, as well as a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University.
Lori Pierson – Chief Financial Officer
John Harberts – VP of Product Development
John Harberts is Vice President of Product Development and a co-founder of AET. He is responsible for the development of AET’s new products and ongoing product improvement efforts. Previously, Mr. Harberts spent 17 years in the automotive industry working for Advanced Accessory Systems. He was responsible for product design and development of all current and future products. Mr. Harberts holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the Ferris State University.
Aaron Faust – VP of Business Development
Aaron Faust is Vice President of Business Development and a co-founder of AET, helping to start the business in early 2009. In less than three years, Mr. Faust has grown the AET customer base to more than 500 customers. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Faust spent 15 years with automotive tier one suppliers TOKICO Automotive and Advanced Accessory Systems in both engineering and sales. Mr. Faust holds a BSME from GMI/Kettering University in Flint, Michigan.
John Klinkman – VP of Engineering
John Klinkman is Vice President of Engineering and a co-founder of AET. During the past three years, Mr. Klinkman has focused his efforts on photovoltaic industry research and the application of mounting structures. Through his efforts working with structural engineers and coordinating wind tunnel testing, he has developed the requirements necessary to properly apply AET’s products in the field. Previously, Mr. Klinkman spent 12 years in the automotive industry working for Advanced Accessory Systems. His responsibilities included directing quote activity and the development of new products. Mr. Klinkman holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
